Are Vibration Plates Good For You? The Truth.

Are Vibration Plates Good For You? The Truth.

Info Zelusfitness |

A vibration plate has a different kind of impact on your body and affects the muscles differently than a dumbbell, weighted vest, or most other kinds of workout equipment. So, it is natural to be curious whether they are safe for everybody or if they truly work.
The truth is that vibration plates are generally safe, and if you use them correctly and in moderation, the benefits are enormous.  So, how do you use a vibration plate safely? The first step is understanding how vibration plates work and being aware of the dangers.

How Does a Vibration Plate Work?

Every vibration exercise machine has an electric motor, an eccentric weight (an off-center weight), and a platform. The motor fires up the system by creating mechanical energy, which powers the movement of the platform, creating vibration.

When you sit, lie, or stand on the platform, the vibrations from the machine transfer energy into your body, stimulating rapid muscle contractions — sometimes as many as 30 to 50 contractions per second. This adds more intensity to any workout you might be doing and causes you to feel like you are exerting yourself.

Do Vibration Plates Really Work?

While vibration plates are clearly good fun, many people do not think that they really work. Research shows that vibration plates do work: The rapid vibrations can be quite effective at stimulating muscle contractions, which in turn improve strength and tone.
Other benefits of vibration plates could vary depending on how you use the equipment, but they are generally good for bone density and stimulating blood circulation as well.
However, they are not a magic solution and work best as part of a well-rounded fitness or rehabilitation program. The benefits of a vibration plate can vary depending on how you use it.

Additional Benefits of Vibration Plates

  • Also, a vibration plate is effective at stimulating enhanced blood circulation.
  • Vibration plates also support weight loss by enhancing calorie burning.
  • They can stimulate bone growth and density, which makes them a good option if you are at risk of osteoporosis.
  • Using a vibration plate improves your proprioception and joint flexibility, which in turn makes accomplishing other tasks easier.

Is a Vibration Plate Good For You?

Vibration plates are definitely not meant for everybody, and before you step onto one, it is important to find out if there could be any negative consequences on your health. The intensity of the vibrations may or may not be good for you depending on your state of health and level of activity. Remember that it puts additional stress on the muscles, the cardio, and the bones and joints.

Are There Any Potential Risks and Concerns of Using a Vibration Plate?

The greatest risk of using a vibration plate is overuse injuries. If your sessions are too long or if you use the plate too frequently, you expose yourself to potential overuse injuries.
  • It can strain your joints, muscles, or ligaments.
  • Sessions longer than 15 minutes or very high-intensity vibrations may lead to discomfort or soreness.
Mayo Clinic confirms that it is best to use your vibration plate for as little as 15 minutes a day for whole-body vibration, in order to get all the benefits and avoid the potential risks and injuries.

It Can Worsen Existing Conditions

If you are already suffering from certain types of injury or certain preexisting health problems, a vibration plate would only make matters worse. If any of the following applies to you, it is best to find other exercise options.
  • You have joint problems (e.g., arthritis) or conditions like herniated discs.
  • You have balance issues and cannot sustain yourself on the platform.

    When to Avoid Vibration Plates

If you have or have had any of the following physical and/ or health issues, you must get medical advice before you use a vibration plate.
    • You are pregnant.
    • A history of seizures or epilepsy.
    • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots.
    • A surgery or are recovering from injuries.
    • Use medical devices like pacemakers.
    • Vestibular issues that affect balance.

    Safety Tips

    • Begin with short sessions (5–10 minutes) at low vibration settings. Gradually increase intensity as you become accustomed.
    • Use the machine as directed and avoid standing on the plate continuously for long durations.
    • Stand with slightly bent knees to reduce the impact on your joints. Avoid locking your knees or standing rigidly.
    • Avoid using the plate daily, especially if you're doing high-intensity workouts.
    • If you're new, consider guidance from a fitness professional or physical therapist to ensure proper technique.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMER TO SAY ...

    • It helps with walking

I purchased this weight vest to kickstart my weight loss journey, and it has been a great investment. The vest is easy to use and comfortable to wear, which makes it easier for me to wear it regularly during my walks. However, there are a few things to keep in mind if you decide to purchase this weight vest. Firstly, it is not suitable to wear in the rain as it tends to smell and may cause some damage to the vest. Additionally, cleaning the vest can be a bit challenging, and I have yet to find an effective way to clean it.One other issue that I have experienced is that the material inside the vest may start to leak over time. Fortunately, I was able to use Gorilla Glue to prevent the leaks from getting worse, which helped to extend the lifespan of the vest.Overall, I would recommend this weight vest to anyone who is looking to start a weight loss program. It's comfortable, easy to use, and effective. Just be mindful of the potential issues with rain, cleaning, and leaks, and take steps to prevent them from happening.

    • Rock solid piece of equipment, works great where I actually feel the burn all over. Crazy awesome.

I was working out at the gym and I saw a room full of these things and decided to give one a try. I found this one, good specs, and a good price and decided to give it a try. I was not dissapointed, where this actually makes me swet and after a while can feel about every muscle working. I have never felt anything like this before, anywhere and to exercise at such a high rate, has an awesome feeling. I do 20 minutes a day, and have lost five pounds, so far, in two weeks. After my first time, I did 30 minutes, I could feel ever muscle in my body, that I probably missed at the gym, that next morning. This one is rock solid, a good solid piece of equipment, that works. There is a lot of variance on speed, and the remote control is solid as well, and very reactive. The power button, kills the rocking pretty fast, so I felt pretty safe taking this one to the max. Hard to show how nice this one is with just pics, so I did a video to show. No cons, really nice piece of workout equipment, where I am very happy with the purchase.
