Zelus Weighted Vests Are Now in 23 Fleet Feet Stores — Try Before You Buy
If you follow fitness, running, or bodyweight training, Zelus Fitness probably isn't a new name to you.
As a brand focused on weighted training and performance gear, Zelus has spent most of its life on your screen. Maybe you first found us on Amazon's bestseller list. Maybe a fitness creator or running blogger put our weighted vest in front of you on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube. You watched them run in it, train in it, and make it look easy — and you thought, "I want that for my own training. Faster burn, better efficiency."
But you never hit "Add to Cart."
We get it. A weighted vest is a piece of gear you wear close to your body. It's not something you buy on specs and product photos alone. You've probably asked yourself:
- Is the quality actually there? Will the materials hold up?
- Will it rub my arms or chafe under my armpits? Does it bounce when I run?
- Is 10 lb or 20 lb too heavy — or too light — for where I am right now?
- Will it feel bulky, tight, or uncomfortable once it's on?
Shipping waits and complicated returns can turn those questions into a wall between you and a better training experience.

Zelus Is Officially Launching in Fleet Feet Stores
That changes this October.
Starting October 2026, Zelus weighted vests will be available in 23 Fleet Feet retail locations across North America. Fleet Feet is one of the most trusted names in specialty running, and we're proud to bring our gear into their stores.
Why Weighted Training Is Having a Moment
Walk into any gym, trail, or weekend 5K and you'll see it. Runners are adding load to their easy miles. Lifters are mixing in carries and sled pushes. People who used to train purely bodyweight are strapping on a vest for squats, push-ups, and step-ups.
The reason is simple: adding weight to movements you already do makes them harder, more efficient, and more transferable to real life. A weighted vest raises the cost of every step, every squat, every breath. For runners, it builds durability. For lifters, it adds a conditioning layer. For anyone short on time, it turns a familiar workout into something that actually challenges you again.
The catch? A weighted vest only works if you'll actually wear it. And that's exactly where most online purchases fall apart.
If You Know the Running World, You Know Fleet Feet
Founded in Sacramento, California in 1976, Fleet Feet has spent nearly 50 years helping runners and athletes find gear that actually fits. It's more than a retail chain — it's a community hub for runners. Their fit id® 3D foot-scanning system and one-on-one outfitting approach are built around a simple idea: the right gear should match your body and your movement.
That obsession with fit and experience is exactly why this partnership makes sense for Zelus. Fleet Feet doesn't just hand you a box and send you on your way. They take the time to understand how you move, what you're training for, and what will actually work for you. We built Zelus around the same belief — that the best gear is the gear you forget you're wearing.

Why Fleet Feet? Because Fit Matters to Both of Us
We chose Fleet Feet as our first major in-store partner because our customers overlap. We're both serving people who train seriously, care about staying healthy, and refuse to settle on comfort or quality.
More importantly, we wanted to give people who are hesitant to buy online a chance to see and touch Zelus in person. A weighted vest is one of those products that makes sense the second you put it on — and makes no sense at all when you're staring at a product page at 11 p.m.
Inside a Fleet Feet store, you can:
- Try it on. Feel how the ergonomic cut sits on your shoulders and torso. Swing your arms. See if it moves the way you need it to.
- Feel the materials. Touch the breathable, sweat-wicking neoprene and high-density fabric. Check the stitching. Judge the durability for yourself.
- Dial in your weight. Stop guessing. Try different plate weights on the spot and find the one that matches your current fitness level.

Not Sure What Weight to Start With?
This is the question we get more than any other, and it's the hardest one to answer online.
As a general guide:
New to weighted training
10 lb
Plenty for walking, incline work, and bodyweight circuits. You'll feel it faster than you expect.
Regular runner or lifter
15–20 lb
A common sweet spot for runs, rucks, and strength circuits.
Rucking, OCR, or hybrid fitness
20 lb+
A heavier load can work well here — but build up gradually.
The right weight is the one you can move well in. Not the one that looks impressive on paper. And this is exactly the kind of thing you can figure out in five minutes in a store — versus five days of guessing online.
Come See Us at Fleet Feet
As a brand, there's nothing we want more than to hear from you in person. We want more people to experience Zelus in the way that feels safest and most honest — trying it on, moving in it, and deciding for themselves.
If you're near one of these 23 Fleet Feet locations, take a weekend this October to stop in. Put on a Zelus weighted vest. Walk around. Do a few squats. See how it feels.
No more guessing.
Find your nearest Fleet Feet, try Zelus on, and feel the difference for yourself.
